When asked to facilitate a retreat, I consider it first a privilege. You’re inviting me into your team – full of individuals with ambitions and ideas and past experiences – and into your organization – one that I assume is seeking to make the world better in some way. So I start by asking the leader lots of questions – questions about where the team and organization are right now, and where they hope to be in the future. This allows for me to customize each retreat based on the organization’s needs and leadership team’s needs. From there, we can determine together the best approach.
Develop trust, practice productive and healthy debate, and decide what is most important right now to our team and organization through conversations and activities. Identify areas for improvement as individuals and teams.
For newly formed teams and teams with recently added members, of 2-8 individuals.

We will work together to answer questions like: Who are we, really? What gives life to our organization? What matters to us as we live and work together? What are our most ambitious goals?
For organizations seeking organizational clarity around their mission, core values, vision, and strategy.

Bailey does this by helping every person, from the team leader to its newest member, understand that what they do best makes the team better.
Bailey led a team retreat for my team of academic advisors in Fall 2022.
Bailey is focused, in real time, on helping the team understand their story and equipping the team with the tools to write a new chapter. Bailey does this by helping every person, from the team leader to its newest member, understand that what they do best makes the team better.
Bailey quickly establishes a rapport by casting the team as the main character of the narrative. Bailey’s professional accomplishments would be impressive if she spent any time on them. Bailey’s academic credentials would not be surprising if she went through the list. And her critical life events, the ones that might have appeared to be standing in the way of a successful career as a coach and facilitator, would be heart-tugging, if she were interested in telling her story.
Bailey is committed to making better teams.

Bailey helped me take a team with very different personalities who had gotten off to a rough start together find their footing as a unit.
Bailey helped me take a team with very different personalities who had gotten off to a rough start together find their footing as a unit. She showed us how to appreciate our differences, get to know each other better, and engage in more productive meetings and conversations. We have far more trust in each other now, hold each other to a higher standard, and are less afraid of conflict. I hope we can continue to progress in this work on our own and with Bailey as needed.

She facilitates our conversations in a way that demonstrates her deep understanding of people, as well as the practices that enable organizations to excel.
I have invited Bailey in to lead our Senior Leadership Team retreats for the past three years. She facilitates our conversations in a way that demonstrates her deep understanding of people, as well as the practices that enable organizations to excel. Bailey listens to what is and is not being said. This has provided our team with valuable insight on team strengths alongside areas for growth. Specifically, she equipped us to have effective meetings and build enduring trust with one another. Every CEO needs this kind of outsider perspective.
